I performed a full reset of my PC to address the overheating problem. Despite using an ID cool AIO, the temperature remained around 70°C during idle. I then reinstalled the stock cooler to check if that was the source of the issue, but it still stayed between 69-70°C.

Your AIO appears to be nonfunctional, and the stock cooler seems improperly secured.

I have to ask only because I've taken this for granted before and been burned, how are you verifying the idle state? You aren't doing anything or have you actually verified absolutely nothing is running and (at the very least) Task Manager is reporting 1-3% usage?

People often think inactivity means no use of the device, but operating systems can still function effectively even when someone else is present.

I opened Task Manager and checked the details. The only activity above 1-2% was the idle system process. I resolved it by removing that process, which stopped showing my CPU at 100% and returned normal temperatures.

It seems we're on the same page about this. Both of you were incorrect.

He was likely right after all. You weren’t idle, which meant the answer was different from what we thought. Good job solving it!
