I've checked my 5930k at regular speeds, cooled with a H110i GTAI on my 4790k. It usually drops to around 23-28°C at stock speeds, stays under 62°C even when under load. I know the 5930k is a larger chip and it idles at about 44-49°C, but I've mentioned this thermal issue many times without it getting worse. The heat spread is good and even. Under load it never exceeds 79°C, though that still feels high. Am I being overly cautious or is there something affecting it?

Focus on a single core for better performance. Results will reflect this change.

That's unusual. I understand the 5930k is a bit warmer, but it feels unexpected. No idea. But could you clarify if you meant idle instead of idol?

As long as your load temperatures are fine, no need to worry. Edited December 2, 2015 by Godlygamer23

Suggest that the device is running at idle. Verify if C states are activated in the BIOS settings.

There seems to be an issue with your setup. Your 5820k is running at high speeds (4.3Ghz @1.24v) and idle temps range from 29 to 33°C. You're using OCCT 65c under a straight H110 with Noctua NF-14 fans. It looks like the fan curves might be set too low, which could affect cooling. Some users on Overclock.net are facing similar problems when switching coolers between boards, even for the H110i GT. Try adjusting the pump pressure slightly and check if the temperature improves. Four small washers on the bracket screws may also help.

You own an x99a M.S.P.O. MMO card.

It's unusual. My 5960X was boosted to 4.5Ghz idle, running at about 36-37°C alongside the H110. Could you check if your pump and fans are getting enough power from your motherboard?

All connections are secure and the fans operate at full capacity. I could consider purchasing a cheaper heatsink for the H110i GT.

Verify the pump's performance and the voltage supplied to your processor. If it operates at normal speed, the issue may stem from excessive voltage on your board.
