Hello, I shared details about a previous issue in another discussion thread, and so far there are no solutions found. Essentially, last Saturday some of my system fans stopped working randomly. Later, the CPU cooler fan also failed to operate under load. Here’s what I’ve discovered: My CPU is overheating significantly. During a 3DMark test, its temperature peaked at 97°C. After removing the cooler, reapplying thermal paste, and adding more airflow, the temp dropped to around 82°C—still quite high. Further checks revealed the CPU frequently turbo-charges, often running at about 4.18–4.19 GHz even when idle. Voltage readings were also unusually high (1.3–1.4V, peaking near 1.46V). This could be normal, but I’m unsure. I haven’t overclocked and confirmed everything in BIOS matches stock settings (1.296V). I changed the voltage manually to 1.2 after a blue screen appeared while streaming Valorant on Twitch. During the crash, I heard static and buzzing sounds, then reset to BIOS and set voltages to auto. So far, attempts to fix it include switching the PSU to a known working one, but temperatures, voltages, and clocks remain problematic. Could the motherboard be failing? You're referring to the sounds it makes? It could have been a popping noise.
BIOS is up-to-date, released in 2018. Reflashing might help. Concerning the sounds, you're right about the buzzing and occasional bursts. These noises led me to investigate if the power supply unit was the issue, which appears unlikely.
I restored Windows 10 just in time, and the system feels steadier now. What could be causing this improvement?
