Processor operating at full speed during standby mode
Hi everyone, just wanted to share my thoughts on this issue. While my CPU is often running at full speed when idle, I’m curious if that’s typical. Do Windows processes sometimes need the CPU to quickly reach maximum clock speed? Here are some details: I use an Aorus Elite V2 B550 with a Ryzen 5 5600X. I’ve also boosted both RAM and CPU manually using Ryzen Master, and it seems my CPU is ramping up to full speed. Let me know your experience! Thanks!
On Ryzen systems, the performance is quite typical. The boost settings tend to be quite high, causing background processes to quickly reach maximum output.
consider uninstalling the Ryzen "master" version and resetting the CMOS. I'm wondering if this might affect things, though I think you might be misunderstanding something. The idea of "auto overclocking" with Ryzen isn't recommended, especially without thorough testing. It's not a safe approach unless you're certain it's beneficial.
