I aim to replace my CPU with an i9-9700K, but I need to verify if it works with the Tampa 2 motherboard.

ITT functions properly, but an update to the BIOS is likely required.

This document confirms support is available only through the 8700 series, excluding the 9th generation models.

It would be helpful if he shares the PC model (likely OEM or HP 880 series). Same motherboard but different specs—supports 9700k. The chipset is Z370, which should handle the 9th generation. Not clear if a BIOS update is needed.

It's an HP Omen 880-153NA with a Tampa 2 motherboard, already equipped with the i7-9700K CPU. This info can help assess if an i9-9900K would work.

The site doesn't show compatibility for the 9900k. It might function due to factors beyond BIOS rules, such as the maker not wanting to address poor CPU and VRM cooling or weak PSU power.
