I’m hoping you’ll find some assistance. I’ve tried nearly every solution so far. Recently, I upgraded to an RX 6800 XT, installed an 850-watt power supply, and updated my graphics drivers. With a performance monitoring tool, I notice my CPU occasionally drops to 1-8% usage, the GPU runs between 40-50%, yet my uncapped FPS in Rocket League can’t sustain 240 without wild swings—everything looks very unstable. Temperatures stay below 60°C, RAM utilization is around 50%, and even Battlefield 1 struggles to maintain 100 FPS (again, CPU and GPU aren’t near full capacity). Looking at my GPU/CPU combos, others report 300 FPS at high settings. Possible fixes I’ve tried include resetting the PC from a media USB, switching to Windows 10/11, updating drivers, updating BIOS, adjusting chipset drivers, changing RAM slots (from A1B1 to A2B2), toggling XMP profiles, enabling freeframe, updating display cables and power settings. I’m sure I’ve missed something—I’ve tried quite a few things. My Ryzen 5 1600 (AF) is paired with an ASRock B450 Pro 4 Sapphire Pulse RX 6800 XT at 3200MHz DDR4, 16GB RAM, powered by an 850W PSU and Samsung 500GB M.2 SSD with a 1TB SSD in Windows 11. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, especially since I’ve already invested heavily in the GPU.
Ryzen 1600 creates a significant performance limit for a 6800XT, likely forcing one CPU core to operate at full capacity and restricting frame rates. EDIT.: Consider upgrading to an R5 4500 or higher if possible—it’s very affordable and would greatly enhance your setup.
It might actually have caused a bigger issue, the newest BIOS isn't advised for the Ryzen 1000 line.
The CPU usage could be capturing the entire processor, not limited to individual cores or threads. Some threads or cores might be fully utilized while others remain idle. Online bottleneck tools are largely ineffective.
