I see, I'm taking this as a side project to stay mentally sharp. The specs look like a R5 2*140 with front airflow, back blowing one in the rear and another at the top. The motherboard has MSI Mortar Titanium B360M I7 8700, and the case uses 2*140 front blowing with 16GB DDR4 2132 (two sticks, eight gigabytes). The PSU is an 850W Black with a 2mm gap from the GPU case. I've enabled XMP in basic BIOS, but everything seems fine at 7B23vA8. The cooler is just a couple millimeters away from the GPU, but it doesn’t touch. Running Cinebench R20 brings temps above 90°C, especially in hot weather—it gets worse on really hot days. I cleaned the CPU with Akasa Timed Paste from the NOCTUA pack, checked fan directions and speeds, and everything is properly seated.
Testing the effect of removing the side of the case can lower the temperatures. Try it if you haven’t already.
Do you have a maximum frame rate limit? The temperatures are on the higher side but remain reasonable during heavy use.
Consider adjusting your CPU's voltage with small increments. Begin at -0.01 and raise it gradually by 0.005 until temperatures stabilize or performance issues arise. Proceed stepwise: -0.01, -0.015, -0.02. It should improve stability without causing problems unless your processor is particularly sensitive.
This setup is built for quiet performance with water cooling in mind. Consider simplifying the drive cages and adding fans at the base, perhaps a side fan to bring in fresh air and boost positive pressure. A 360° airflow unit at the top would be ideal. The minimum temperature should be around 280°F. While air coolers and water coolers compete often, water cooling stands out because you can direct the heat where it’s needed most.
I checked thoroughly, but the situation seems very restricted. I don't believe it can be resolved through research. I'll give it another shot.
I explained the process of removing drive cages, noting they were taken out in batches with an HD cable on a bracket at the base of the case, just below the lowest fan. It sounds confusing to you, but I don’t use water cooling. Water and electricity combine well, which is why the old setup didn’t work.
