Processing RAM speed alongside video editing tasks.
I have a Ryzen 7 3700x with 16GB of 3000MHz RAM. I've been working on Adobe After Effects and notice my memory usage is reaching its limit quickly. I'm considering upgrading to 32GB (eventually aiming for 64GB). The same 2x8GB bundle I own is discounted on Cyber Monday for $45-50. My concern is whether to buy that bundle now or wait until I can get a faster 32GB option (3200 or 3600MHz). If the extra speed doesn't significantly improve performance in Adobe apps, I'd prefer the cheaper choice to save $120-140. I understand Ryzen benefits from fast RAM, but it seems more relevant for gaming than video editing. Thanks!
The editing performance gap won't exceed 5%, so opt for slower speed with greater capacity.
