you have a nearly new pair of 2x8gb ram in your pc. it previously ran at 100% usage, but viruses were present that you removed using malwarebytes. now only about 10gbs are actively used, and you’re running just chrome and discord open. despite counting all running programs, the usage doesn’t add up to 60%, yet it still shows around 60%. something might be affecting the monitoring or the system’s interpretation of usage.

Consider sharing a screenshot of your task manager. Chrome and other browsers tend to consume a lot of memory.

Looking at the usage without Discord and Chrome open, did you check the results side by side and then?

Without it, the result drops to 58 percent. That’s why they’re only using about 2 percent of the total.

Ensure your Samsung SSD isn't using RAPID mode. Excessive memory consumption might stem from faulty drivers; consider reinstalling your network drivers.

It might be due to additional viruses present. If the system ran at full capacity, malwarebytes could have missed some threats. Have you attempted a new Windows installation?

Resource Monitor displays memory usage details under the Memory section. You can arrange processes from highest to lowest Working Set size for better insight.
