Doom Eternal launched and my computer is definitely capable of handling it. However, after checking performance metrics, my CPU seems to be the limiting factor. It’s unusual for usage to stay below 50%, so this might point to an optimization issue rather than a hardware problem. The game’s recommended specs are an i7-6700K and GTX 1060, which suggests I should be fine. Lowering settings only makes a small difference in frame rate. Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, I also just made a thread about this sort of problem. I am having the same problem, but with a GTX 1060 and I see you have a 1070 in the picture even though you've mentioned a 1060 in the text.

You're referring to the suggested specs. The processor is an i7-6700k, GPU is GTX 1070, RAM is 32GB DDR4 at 2133MHz. The motherboard is an MSI B150M. It seems your cooling setup should handle the heat from the CPU.

I've already received all drivers for past chipsets.

I just came across a Reddit thread about fixing GPU and CPU usage issues. I plan to test it out and share my results.

It seems a GTX 1060 might achieve around 60 frames per second at the highest resolution.

Wow, the FPS counter was turned off and my game is running super smoothly. That’s amazing. Consider only keeping the Doom game’s FPS tracker active.
