Hey there, I’m still getting familiar with PC stuff, so I’m not super experienced. But I’ll share what I know. I have a Ryzen 7 5700X3d, 32GB RAM (default speed), Radeon 6700X, a 750W 80Plus Gold power supply, two fans in the case plus an AIO on the CPU. I’ve set this up for about six months now. Everything has worked well so far—I’ve played lots of games and tested them thoroughly. I also ran Obs Studio recording, and it performed really well recently.
Lately, my PC has been using 90–100% CPU in busy tasks, while the GPU stays around 95–100% during Hunt Showdown. My main game is fine, but The Finals COD and Repo have caused issues. I noticed frames dropping when switching loadouts, but FPS stayed stable otherwise. The game doesn’t feel as bad as Hunt Showdown, though it still freezes a bit under heavy loads.
I’ve checked temperatures with hwinfo—CPU stays around 74°C max, GPU about 80°C max. I’m trying to stream again, and before that I used an 1660 Super. It worked okay for simple 1080p recordings, but I wanted something better. After the CPU upgrade, things looked great, but now all my recordings look bad, probably because of high CPU usage. I’ve tried recording in Obs, opened files without recording, and even closed Obs completely—no changes to drivers, cooling, or settings since then. It still runs smoothly, just with noticeable stuttering and frames dropping to half normal.
I’ve asked friends who know computers for advice, but nothing new has come up. I downloaded a driver update, restarted the PC, and it kept happening. Just before this started, there was a Windows update. My IT friend said maybe that’s the cause, but I’m not sure. I haven’t tried anything else. I have a video showing my CPU hitting 90% in Hunt Showdown—it really shocked me.

It might be using the default CPU encoding, which could improve performance. The hardware encoding would likely assist more. This issue could also stem from an automatic update. Both OBS and Windows are frequently releasing updates with questionable quality. Consider reverting if other solutions fail. Good luck!
It's happening even without my obs. It began a few days ago and before that it performed well. Now, somehow it just froze and my FPS dropped to zero.
