I've recently upgraded to the Ryzen 5950x and a better cooler, but I'm still experiencing high temperatures. In games like Valorant, my temps hit 78°C at full settings, while idle stays around 62°C. I haven't changed anything beyond reapplying the cooler and thermal paste. I usually run few background apps—just a couple tabs, Brave, Discord, Razer, G Hub, Avast, ShadowPlay. I clean the system every couple of months, but nothing improves. Anyone know why this is happening or what I should try?

72c under load doesn't seem to cause high temperatures from my perspective. For idle, it looks a bit warm, but I don't use Ryzen, so I'm not sure. My fan curve likely matters most at idle—consider raising the idle RPM slightly. Noctua fans are quiet, you probably won't notice much difference.

Execute Cinebench R23 to monitor temperatures. Valorant or most games aren't reliable for checking heat performance.

Noctua fans are among the most silent options available, right? Are those side panels causing the noise on your PC? I own five Noctua fans and haven’t noticed any sound unless they’re running at more than half speed.

Conditions appear typical for a stock with ticker 5950x operating in air. The fan sound mainly depends on adjusting its speed curve within the available power supply.

I put in a Noctua NF-F12 last year and that’s what’s making the noise—it used to be very quiet. I have the NF-F12, two base fans, and the cooler. The NF-F12 seems to be the most noisy.

Conditions are ideal. If the noise is excessive, reduce fan speeds.

Remove the noisy quiet CPU fan right away—it only blows 68-72 CFM. Concerned about liquid coolers but have a powerful gaming build? Alright, switch to a cooler fan with 80-120 CFM. Configure your coolers in BIOS: 40% at 40°C and 100% at 60°C. Add four additional case fans to balance the airflow while handling the workload inside.
