While playing Minecraft with shaders today, performance dropped significantly—only about 40% of my 3090 and around the same on my 7500f. Frames per second hovered between 80 and 100 or more, which is unusual. Yesterday the GPU was consistently at 90% with 200+ FPS. No updates were installed, framecap disabled, power mode set to max, and MSI afterburner at 107% with the same voltage I usually use. I also tested it in Quake 2 RXT, but usage stayed low at 50%. Cyberpunk still runs smoothly despite the lower performance.
I've checked to ensure no background processes are active such as chrome tabs, downloads, or updates that might affect performance. It's also a good idea to review the latest Windows and Nvidia driver versions, as automatic updates can be difficult to disable for these components. The FPS is really important for me because I use a 360Hz display. Changing the MSI afterburner settings didn’t help. I haven’t received any new updates from NVIDIA, and Windows updates aren’t installing since ReviOS is preventing them.
