Processing at reduced performance levels

BIOS reports RAM at 3200MHz as expected, but Task Manager shows 1600MHz after boot. Adjusting BIOS settings doesn’t fix the issue. RAM speed changes in BIOS don’t affect Task Manager readings. Games crash or freeze immediately after speed changes. Resetting BIOS to default didn’t help. Motherboard: MSI B450 PRO-VDH, CPU: Ryzen 7 1700X, Base clock 3.9GHz, RAM: G Skill Ripjaws V Series 2x8 at 3200MHz. Need further assistance.

DDR stands for double data rate. This means a 1600 MHz signal actually translates to 3200 MHz in practice.

Normal speed comes from DDR technology, with double the actual clock speed. Using 3200MHz isn't ideal for the first generation, so consider 2933.

On previous systems and other models I've used, the task manager displays RAM speed matching the expected values. Often it reads 3200 MHz.
