This has made me hesitate about fully committing to one side. While many PCMR members criticize consoles, it seems preferences don’t really matter. I don’t feel the need to align myself with any particular brand. It’s strange to become overly attached to a company. I appreciate Sony’s work, as well as what LG, Apple, and Motorola offer. When I assemble my PC, I’m also considering getting a PS4. The reason is that most of my friends use PSN and play some exclusives for the PS4 like Bloodborne or The Last of Us. I believe PCs are technically better than consoles, yet that doesn’t justify the strong dislike many PC enthusiasts have. There’s a similar issue with Apple—people often complain it’s too expensive and OS X lacks flexibility or support for certain programs. Yet OS X stands out because it avoids fragmentation and offers robust support since Apple handles both hardware and software. Windows, on the other hand, gives you more control but can be less reliable and secure compared to OS X. In either case, dismissing someone’s preference just because they don’t share your platform feels unfair. It’s like telling someone who identifies as gay they’re wrong simply because they’re different—something that’s unacceptable and disrespectful.

Really, I've never heard anyone say something like that so earnestly—are you always like this about everything? @OP That's awesome, you'll need to introduce him to some old-school gems eventually.

The issue is becoming irritating rather than humorous, and it gives the impression that the PC community acts like snobbish individuals. Remember, it started as a lighthearted comment, not a serious critique.

This paints the PC scene as a bunch of extremes. To clarify your point, I don’t really believe everything seriously. The whole group of casual players is just really annoying. And let me share something—back when I played on consoles, no one around me cared about PC, except for those who wanted the top-tier setup to impress console fans... well, they were just a bunch of geeks.

Then let them look like bell ends if they enjoy the humour then whatever. No need to shit on someone for helping out a friend who was clearly interested in PC gaming from the start.
