Hello, your CPU handled gaming smoothly at full performance, but during normal tasks it stayed around 70% or 80%. In the Task Manager, svchost.exe with the File History Service uses about 20% CPU. This is normal behavior and not harmful.

Not too bad, probably just Windows Services.

The i5 7600K performs well under heavy loads but doesn't meet current mid-range and high-end expectations, which is typical given its power limits.

That’s not the problem. svchost running at 100% usually means something else is going on—like a broken Windows service, a poorly optimized program, or malware. svchost typically uses minimal CPU most of the time and only fully uses it during tasks such as installing Windows updates. It shouldn’t stay at 100% for more than a few seconds.

What operating system are you running? If you're using Windows 10, let me know which specific version you're on. You can find your Windows version by pressing Win+R, typing "winver," and pressing Enter—it will display the current version. Are you also utilizing File History? What antivirus or security software are you employing?

It's a common area for viruses. It's a background system program handling various Windows tasks. Run virus scans like Malwarebytes—it's probably just a minor glitch.

Sorry, but I can't ignore this. The 7600k isn't a weak CPU, and it's unlikely to reach maximum performance in typical 1080p games. My 6600k behaves similarly.

While running demanding CPU games like The Witcher 3, the system consumes roughly 60 to 70 percent of the processor. Adding a program that uses about 20 percent is still excessive, yet the overall value for performance remains worthwhile given the price and capabilities at the time.
