Hello everyone, I'm transitioning from Windows 10 to Ubuntu 19.04 (released soon) after about a decade of working with virtual machines. I've been dealing with several Windows problems and decided to try the new OS. Before making the change, I tested an 18.04 live environment to see if any issues existed. I'm seeking advice on troubleshooting steps and resources for my current challenges.

On my creative labs SoundBlaster -Z internal PCI audio card, "Alsamixer" is working but missing some essential software features. Additionally, I'm having trouble switching between headphones and speakers—my microphone doesn't pick up any input when connected to the right port, and using the speaker output sounds choppy even with Discord audio tests.

Recently, I bought a new keyboard after my previous one's "W" key stopped working (RIP 2013 Razer Blackwidiow ultimate). I've been using the Asus ROG Stirix Flare, which has performed well so far. For managing RGB and macros, I use Asus's "ASUS Armory," but I can't find Linux support for it and haven't had a response from their support team.

The macro issue is more pressing; the out-of-the-box RGB setup causes discomfort, making my eyes sting after just five minutes. I'm looking for alternative ways to control RGB or suggestions for better options. Any tips or workarounds would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Using PulseAudio instead of ALSA seems to conflict with your manual settings. The RGB options aren’t clear either.

The problem with RGB controls is that there is no standard way of controlling them, everything is proprietary. If you want to be able to control them, try looking for some software that does just that on Linux. Worst case scenario you're stuck trying to write the software yourself.

It depends on the situation. If you're unsure, consider checking the official documentation or contacting support for guidance.
