Hello. I just purchased a new computer and need a Windows 10 Home retail license. Could you confirm whether the link you shared offers a retail or OEM license? If not, where should I buy a retail license (please avoid suggestions like Amazon)? I’m unsure since it isn’t clearly stated. I want a retail license so I can transfer it to a new machine in two years. Retail license is for one PC, and OEM is tied to your hardware and BIOS? Let me know. Thanks!

It seems you're confirming that a Windows retail key can be used on any PC as many times as needed, but it must not be active at the same time.

you might think paying $100 for a retail license is unnecessary since an OEM key can be purchased for just $20. changing computers would cost about $40, and even with five changes, it’s still more affordable than buying an OEM key. don’t waste your money—this price applies to the professional version, and a home OEM key would be even cheaper.

I don't think thers is a way to do it legally unless you are a manufacturer. Whatever OEM key you buy on a "black market" will activate Windows but, from a legal standpoint, it will still be piracy.

OEM keys are fully acceptable for purchase. They come with certain restrictions.

Microsoft doesn't offer OEM keys to anyone unless you're a genuine producer, and no legitimate seller will do so. If you find this key elsewhere, it's unlikely you can justify its use to authorities: https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threa...es.279158/

OEM keys are acceptable for resale, while volume licenses are not allowed. In practice, OEM keys violate their terms of service, but Microsoft has never targeted sellers of volume licenses.

Microsoft likely has little interest in that matter (since for them, pirated Windows is preferable to MacOS or Linux; otherwise, they could have disabled systems without a license remotely). The law doesn<|pad|> to enforce copyright violations—there was even a Russian case where a teacher was prosecuted for using pirated Windows, despite Microsoft’s public denial of any claims against him.
