I can't just skip it, it doesn't give me that option. Unless I'm missing somthing?

Are you in the setup process? You might have accidentally installed drivers manually.

I simply pressed Install and was prompted about my country before moving on to the main interface.

This seems odd since there haven't been any drivers available for Windows 10 yet.

Most makers delay creating drivers until RTM is achieved. It seems Windows 10 will receive significantly improved driver support now that it’s reached RTM. I think it’s wise to wait a bit or check for chipset drivers in Windows 10. I’m curious why your installation insists on them right away.

I put it on Windows 8.1 via Windows Update. I believe Microsoft may have disabled that option now, along with rolling out new versions and other changes, giving them more time for updates. Do you have any images to refer? They would be very useful.

I can't handle either option since I'm switching from Linux to a different operating system, and I need to install updates on the same machine I use for communication.

You still have access to the PC via Linux, but the USB might not be transferring correctly. Consider reimaging the USB with Rufus, as it could resolve any driver issues. Also, check if Wine is interfering—your attempt to use it earlier failed because it didn’t recognize the device.
