Hey there, newcomer! Welcome to the forum. It's been a while since I've been around, but this is my first post. I've been facing some problems after adding another 16GB of memory to my system (now at 32GB total). Before, I was running at 16GB of Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB @3200MHz C16 without any issues. I had to increase the voltage a bit—probably around 1.25V—to reach it. Recently, I bought another identical RAM stick and it's causing stability issues at 2666MHz, with crashes and errors. I've tried boosting the DRAM voltage to about 1.45V, but that hasn't helped either. I've used Thaiphoon and DRAM Calculator to set the right values for my BIOS, but those suggestions didn't work. My system uses the latest BIOS, a new chipset driver, and these components: AORUS X570 Elite MOBO, Ryzen 7 2700, 8x4GB Corsair Vengeance Pro RGB @3200MHz CL16, Gigabyte 750W bronze PSU, and Gigabyte 2070 super. I don’t have an overclock on my CPU and just want the RAM to run at its advertised speed. I also tried Ryzen Master, which some people said might help, but I can’t download it because it says I already have a newer version. I’m not very tech-savvy—just following the guides here and on YouTube. Any advice would be super welcome. Thanks! Corey
The optimal way to boost higher frequency performance is to use only two memory modules in the A2 and B2 slots for dual channel configuration. Another important point is that the CPU supports up to 2933 MHz, not 3000 MHz. This means you might need some adjustments and a bit of effort to exceed the stock frequency. Decide whether to lower the frequency with more DIMMs or opt for fewer DIMMs at a higher frequency. If your memory usage stays under 16 GB, it’s best to run both sticks and aim for the highest possible speed.

A better option is likely, though there will still be some limits. I believe 3200mhz could be handled. For editing tasks, you'd prefer more threads. A 3600 would not be ideal, but it might serve as a side upgrade rather than a major improvement for your workspace. My 2700X would outperform a 3600 in workloads. Therefore, I’d suggest either a 3700x or higher, or even a 3900x if prices drop soon.
I tested nearly every voltage up to 1.45 but got nothing. Selling my r7 2700 helped me buy a r7 3700x, which now works flawlessly. After some research, it looks like the 2700 only supports around 2666mhz with four sticks, while two sticks handle 3200mhz without issues. With the 3700x I’m stable at 3200mhz using all four sticks.
