I own an Asus Rog Strix Z270e equipped with an i7 7700k. Switching from Wi-Fi to Ethernet isn't necessary because the internal Wi-Fi is extremely weak, causing noticeable lag spikes every 10-20 minutes. I attempted to use Intel AC Wi-Fi cards, but no matter which one I inserted into the PCIe slot, the signal never reached 90%. While ping times were better than the built-in card, lag became more frequent. My brother uses the same card and doesn’t experience lag, yet I do. Could this be a limitation of the motherboard regarding PCIe Wi-Fi? Also, is it concerning that the IDE controller is an Intel 300 Series AHCI chipset? The Windows update changed it from the older 200 series to the newer 300.

I turned off the built-in Wi-Fi before adding the PCIe Wi-Fi card. It’s unclear if the issue is due to insufficient power for the PCI port or another factor. I have a 750-watt power supply.
