I've been experimenting with Linux lately and just set up Pop! OS on my laptop (the Nvidia image). I'm facing a problem when I suspend—both shutting down the laptop and suspending from the OS. Error messages pop up about processes not freezing or, in the case of OS suspension, the login/splash screen appears frozen before hitting those errors. I'm pretty new to Linux, so I've checked some forum discussions and found a tip to set "mem_sleep_default=deep" or similar in the kernelstub config. Neither fixed the issue. My machine is an MSI GS40 6QE Phantom Kernel version 5.8.0-7625-generic, running an Intel i7-6700HQ CPU and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970M. In Pop! OS, the systemctl suspend command seems to work fine, just closing the laptop or suspending via the GUI.

Start Puppy Linux Fossa using a USB drive, then verify the suspend feature works properly.

You're experiencing an issue where the system briefly lost its state but recovered normally afterward. It seems the suspend functionality didn't activate properly, causing a temporary interruption before returning to full operation.
