Problems with the RTX 3080
I've experienced some unusual problems with my Strix 3080 OC about two weeks ago. Performance has been unusually strong, but I haven't encountered any crashes yet. The main issue now is that after playing for a couple of hours, I start feeling a headache, mild discomfort in my head and face, and difficulty focusing on the screen. I also feel dizzy and experience a sense of being "stoned" while using the card. These symptoms worsen over time, and even after an entire evening of gaming, I still wake up with a headache the next day.
This reminds me of problems I had before with my Asus Swift PG279QE monitor, which I had to return because of similar issues. Right now, I'm using two monitors without any problems, and I haven't changed my computer usage habits. The components I upgraded with are: Asus RTX 3080 ROG Strix OC, Corsair RM850x, Asus ROG Strix z490-F, and Intel i7-10700k at stock speed. It seems odd since these parts don’t usually cause such issues. I also notice this happens during regular computer use, not just gaming. It might be that I’m sensitive to high-power electronics.
It’s worth noting I use wireless headphones from Corsair, H2100, and it could be a connection issue. However, the problem disappears when I switch back to my ROG Strix 1080. I’m worried I might need to remove the card if I can’t identify the cause. Anyone have any insights into what could be going on?
It's the regret of investing so much in a graphics card... or the sound of coils whining.
Certain frequencies might lead to headaches after prolonged exposure to noise. It’s hard to say for sure if that’s your problem, but it’s definitely a possibility. I’d probably check for other causes first, as coil whine usually just bothers you without causing pain. Could be you’re just exhausted?
