Problems with the replacement hard drive
Problems with the replacement hard drive
You're new to the forum and just started using PCs. I changed my old Seagate 1TB drive to a WD 2TB and managed to clone everything, including my games. But now I can't find my Windows icons anymore, and when I open the PC, it says the Desktop folder isn't available. It's just a small annoyance, but I'm looking for advice if anyone has solutions. Thanks!
Check if the updated storage device is assigned to D: within Disk Management.
The replacement drive might not show up as your D drive in Windows. When you open File Explorer and navigate to "This PC," you'll see all connected drives, such as a C drive and another. If the replacement isn't the D drive, you can adjust it so Windows recognizes the correct path again. EDIT: @Needfuldoer shared a link and everything, thanks!
