Hello, I'm a touch puzzled and was hoping someone here could help out. I've recently built a new rig and encountered a few issues. I did scour the internet for solutions and tried most of them, but nothing's worked as of yet. Related rig info: OS: I run dual boot, but use mainly Windows 11 while I wait for my GPU to be supported on Linux Mint. CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9700X (8-core) Mobo: AMD B650 Eagle AX (I don't think anything else matters for these issues, but if needed, I can share more) Issues: 1) Volume mixer does not remember its settings (Windows & Linux Mint) This one is fairly simple. Any time I open a new software with a sound output, volume mixer always starts it at 100%. It isn't a big bother, but getting my ears blasted every now and then can get annoying. - I tried updating my drivers, but they are apparently up to date. 2) Disks are not recognized/mounted automatically on startup (Linux Mint) Another fairly simple problem. On Linux, my disks are not mounted by default. I have to go and mount them manually. This causes issues for software that works on boot and I have to tell Steam where my library is on those disks every time. - Here I tried to use the terminal to set up auto mount, but even that did not work. And I decided to not fiddle with it further without any solid information. 3) Internet connection has spikes in regular intervals (Windows & Linux Mint) I am connected through a cable to my router and I get nearly perfect, regular spikes. My Mobo has a wifi support which I have not tried yet, BUT what I did try was tethering my phone and it had the same results. Please ignore my up and down speed, I can't get any faster where I live. - Here I once again tried some command line tricks, but nothing worked. So it's either something deeper in the system that I cannot crack, or my router needs a replacement. If you'd like more info, please let me know. Thank you in advance.

In the initial setup, you’ll find a menu in the Windows Control Panel under Hardware and Sound Devices... then select Sound. Move to your sound device’s properties and click on the Advanced tab. Disable the option that lets applications take full control of this device. It might have worked for a volume reset issue I read about. For Linux, I’m not sure how to proceed.

Are all operations using one hard drive? Likely, you might face problems since different operating systems manage storage uniquely. You need to divide the space properly for everything to function. Have you done this? A brief overview.

I own a Windows SSD, a Linux SSD, plus three additional SSDs for software and media. The Linux system was set up with a separate partition using Ext4. After resolving the problems, I reformatted them and now have only one SSD dedicated to Windows (the main storage area).

I reviewed the setting. The choice was confirmed, yet disabling it didn’t resolve the problem. For instance, with Spotify, adjusting the volume via the mixer works, but restarting the app brings the level back to full.
