There seems to be a compatibility issue when trying to install the .NET Framework v4.0 and above. The system logs indicate errors around version 6.1.7600, with a specific error code 0x8E5E0442. The installation process encountered problems during setup, and the command executed successfully but failed at the final step.

Issues with NET Framework 4.0, 4.5.1 and 4.5.2 have been reported. Although I managed to install 4.0 and 4.5.1 successfully, 4.5.2 failed consistently. Even manual installs didn’t work; online fixes only provided temporary relief. A complete reinstall of Windows and updates seemed necessary. I suggest starting fresh and proceeding with OS updates or moving forward without it.

Grab Ninite, and let it handle everything.

Begin by launching the command prompt with elevated privileges. Enter the specified commands one by one and press Enter. Prepare your software distribution folder at "%SystemRoot%\SoftwareDistribution" and rename it to "SoftwareDistributionOLD". Restart the wuauserv service using the provided name. Clear your Temp directory located at C:\Users\lepokez\AppData\Local\Temp. Open Internet Explorer and reset its browsing history and cache, or use CCleaner for these tasks. Verify your system clock by clicking the time in the taskbar, selecting "Change date and time settings...", navigating to the "Internet Time" tab, clicking "Change Settings button," and updating immediately. If issues persist, choose another server from the menu and restart again. Does it function correctly? If not, note any new error messages.

That sounds a bit tricky, so consider using the Microsoft .NET Framework Repair Tool at the link provided. Reinstall it again, making sure to use a different installer than before. I’m not sure what caused the issue, but it seems like the web version of the installer might have failed halfway through.
