I purchased my laptop in 2022, but about a year ago its GPU began malfunctioning unexpectedly. After launching the system, it initially runs smoothly for a short time before abruptly switching to integrated graphics. I've reinstalled Windows, drivers, and even tried various Linux distributions without success. Anyone have any ideas or solutions?

The Nvidia GPU could be malfunctioning. Check its temperature regularly. If it's elevated, replace the thermal paste and clean the fan. If it's within normal range, further action may not be necessary. Since the GPU is soldered onto the motherboard, you might need to source a new motherboard.

The clocks are functioning properly, and I believe the GPU is still operational.

The cooling vents and fans were cleaned on [date]. Dust and debris can build up there, and if your GPU overheats due to poor airflow, it might shut down and revert to integrated graphics.

I haven't updated them recently, so I'll try opening the laptop and cleaning them to see if it makes a difference.

Despite cleaning the vents and fans, the issue persists.

The GPU seems to switch back to integrated graphics more quickly when it's active compared to when it's idle.
