Hi, your Huawei Matebook is experiencing driver problems. You notice a BSOF error when streaming on Netflix or YouTube, which suggests driver issues. It seems the problem might stem from outdated or missing drivers, though you haven’t updated recently. The keyboard also behaves oddly—sometimes it lights up in the dark but fails to do so consistently, even with backlight controls. You often have to put it in sleep mode before it works again. As someone familiar with Linux, you’re right that there’s no specific utility like YaST for this. You could check all drivers manually or visit the manufacturer’s site to download and install them yourself.

Begin with that approach and observe the outcome. Also, if you haven’t done so yet, perform a scan of your Windows files for any integrity issues caused by malicious activity such as viruses or accidental changes from legitimate programs. To do this, launch Command Prompt with admin privileges and type the command sfc /sfc /scannow.

Are you sure installing the identical driver more than once won’t lead to problems?

I checked the Huawei site and found a tool that claims to update drivers automatically. It says everything is current and my PC should be fine. But I’m still a bit puzzled.

Initially, the term "driver power state failure" might suggest a driver-related issue, but it could actually point to a hardware problem. Windows can assist in identifying software issues, yet it cannot diagnose hardware faults on its own.

Ensuring your drivers are current is typically the initial action. You systematically identify the issue by examining typical causes and solutions. You avoid assuming a hardware fault right away.

Right away? No way. I reviewed earlier comments before posting. IAmAndre mentioned verifying all drivers first, which means the next phase should be hardware inspection. I don’t think checking for updated drivers is the initial step. Sure, having the right drivers is essential, but making them current isn’t mandatory. Back then, the same drivers were considered fresh and updated; if hardware hasn’t changed, performance should remain stable. Drivers don’t simply become obsolete—they might just have bugs that could be fixed later. More importantly, hardware issues like faulty RAM or overheating CPUs need prompt attention before they cause bigger problems. Concentrating only on driver updates while ignoring the OS or hardware could actually worsen things. Sometimes, assessing the hardware should come first.

It seems you're using a tablet, but checking hardware typically requires physical access or specific tools. Let me know how I can assist further!

It's not really possible. I'm just pointing out that it could be a factor.
