I own an Acer Nitro N50-610 and have been checking typical upgrades others do. For example, adding a GPU upgrade showed the factory i5 10400F was a bit of a bottleneck for the 3060. I decided to go for a cheaper i5 10600K. After installing it, the PC lights up the fans but doesn’t boot or display anything. If I leave it as is and use the original CPU, it works perfectly. I’ve tried updating the BIOS and even thought about a BIOS update, but couldn’t get it to run. Am I getting a doggy CPU? Or am I missing something? Thanks ahead!

The motherboard is compatible with CPUs from the tenth generation, specifically those with a 65 watts thermal design power rating.

Yes, others have replicated the same configuration on their own benchmarks.

It seems like the processor might be faulty. I'll return it.

Can't locate it anymore but I've seen it before—I wouldn't have tried otherwise. I'm not the best at this, that's for sure, so I'm just keeping up with others, lol.

I’m sure you’ll go for it. Switching your thoughts entirely and beginning anew sounds like a great idea.

It's also only slightly quicker, which means minimal improvement even if it did function
