But you didn't start with an OC then, did you? If it was running under 3200 before, and you're just beginning to push it up to 3600 with the 5900X, that's the issue. Even the 5900X only handles up to 3200, which explains why I haven't OC'd my 3200 Ballistix. But you didn't start with an OC then, did you? If it was running under 3200 before, and you're just beginning to push it up to 3600 with the 5900X, that's the issue. Even the 5900X only handles up to 3200, which explains why I haven't OC'd my 3200 Ballistix. It's tough to say, just increase it slowly. Your ASUS mainboard tends to turn red if you hit unsafe voltages. The Ryzen DRAM Calculator remains useful, even though it wasn't built for the 5000 series. He mentioned upgrading from two to four sticks, which is the issue—kits not meant for a 4-pack of Ryzen 9000 won't fit. You'll need to handle manual RAM OC, as I often faced similar challenges.

I was testing 3600mhz with the R5 3600, but I'm planning to try 3200mhz since that's a solid speed and I want to see the results.

I wouldn't rely on ASUS's color coding; some highlight red early indicating potential issues, others only show warnings later. The DRAM Calculator functions properly for Ryzen 5000 models, sharing the same memory controller as Ryzen 3000.

Check ram configurations on the burner, you might find suitable mild settings for your chip and adjust timings manually. Here we begin once more with another episode of "The troubles of Corsair Vengeance and Ryzen". It seems Ryzen and Corsair Vengeance don’t seem to get along much, especially with the Vengeance line of sticks. It’s unclear if other Corsair models share this issue, but it appears to be a recurring problem—almost every time it comes up, the sticks are always Vengeance sets. Outside of Corsair RAM, most components work fine. I’ve tested G. Skill with all Ryzen-based setups without any problems, including Trident Z, Royals, and Flares—each performing well across Ryzen chips from the first generation (R3 1200) up to my 3950X. Crucial also plays a role in producing good sticks. The ones you have now are likely acceptable, though not ideal for Ryzen. If you’re using an Intel system and need a set, those should work too. But since you’re planning to run four sticks simultaneously, there’s a practical limit—especially when using all four slots at once.

I advise against Corsair since they often release different versions for the same model, so by the time you buy it, it might not match the version ASUS would have verified. Instead, consider G.Skill or Crucial.
