Problems with NVMe and WiFi on the Asrock Creator TRX40
Hello everyone, I'm new here and am seeking some help with my new build. I've bought the TR 3960X that is paired with the Asrock Creator TRX40. Right now I have 3 NVMes installed (MP600 500GB with OS on it, Aorus 2TB as a scratch disk and for cache, MP600 1TB for project files) in 3 M.2 slots and a single HDD 8TB that initially was supposed to be working with the other 8TB in RAID1 (but I had to send it back as it was faulty). I have no issues with the first MP600 (OS) and the Aorus as they always post in BIOS and OS, but my 3rd M.2 is giving me a headache. It is sometimes detected in BIOS, but not seen by OS, sometimes it's OK but my onboard WiFi gets disabled somehow, sometimes both the M.2 and the WiFi are not there. Any idea what could be the reason for that? Such behavior is generally random, but I believe I more experience those issues after using my optical drive (after drivers update etc.), still I might be fooling myself. I would appreciate your input and hints how to tackle this. Thanks a lot, Greg.
Occasionally BIOS might fail to recognize the system, which could mean the connection isn't secure, the motherboard has issues, or the storage device is defective. Is the Wi-Fi chip always visible during startup?
I didn’t always verify the WiFi card in BIOS since I was concentrating on the M.2 slot. I’ll check it now. Reassembling the drive will be my initial action. Thanks.
Hi, Here's the update. I did not try to reseat the second MP600 as everything started to work flawlessly. On the 4th I got a replacement for my faulty 8TB HDD which I installed in the case and had no issues at all. In the disk management tool I created a mirror of my initial 8TB with data on it and it proceeded to resynching process that took almost 18 hours. After that finished everything was in order and I could enjoy a buttery smooth performance and put the system through its paces. But this nirvana lasted only until yesterday evening. Suddenly, after booting I could not see my HDDs in W10 at all. After rebooting, which took much longer than normally, still no HDD visible in W10. On top of that my WiFi is gone. Another reboot to UEFI proved all my drives were detected. Just for a case I disabled booting option for my ROM, saved and continued. Guess what, now on top of my HDDs and WiFi also the second MP600 is not visible in W10. Apart from the WiFi issue in Device Manager everything else seems OK. By the way, disabling and enabling WiFi device in the Manager solves the network issue, but only until a next reboot. Fast forward, I checked if my HDD are still physically connected, but they were fine. Couple more reboots later everything is back in order except for the 2 HDDs. I'm lost and clueless as to what I should do. Any help? thanks
