I've checked my first-generation AirPods and noticed a persistent white noise coming from the left earbud. I brought them to the Genius Bar, suspecting an issue with the crackling sound, though I wasn't sure if it was for the Pro model. They confirmed my device wasn't eligible due to the SN and explained that many units are affected. After testing, I think the problem lies in the ANC feature—turning it off eliminates the noise. It's unclear if a fix exists, but replacing them with another pair or different audio device might be the best path forward.
