I needed more RAM for my computer and chose the budget option since I already owned 16GB. I thought I’d get identical modules, but they’re actually different models of the same type. The new ones I purchased are listed here: one set is HX426C16FB2K2_16 and the other HX426C16FB3K2_16. The main change is the production number, though both seem compatible. They function independently but not together. It’s unclear if this issue can be fixed, but any advice would be welcome. My system specs are: CPU – AMD Ryzen 5 2600X (6 cores, 3600 MHz), BIOS – version 3003, Motherboard – ROG STRIX B450-F, GPU – ASUS GeForce GTX 1060 6GB Turbo, PSU – Corsair TX750M (750W).
I don't understand why it wouldn't work, and I'll agree even for a completely different 2666MHz CL16 kit. The frequency and timing requirements aren't too tough on the board or CPU memory controller. If it fails, just enter 2666MHz 16-18-18-38 into the BIOS and let it train through more minor numbers. XMP profiles can force some unlisted secondary timings that vary between kits.
The latest update shows a marginally higher voltage preset in the settings. Applying the XMP profile from the new unit should resolve the issue. If it doesn’t, it could be that XMP doesn’t support a 4-slot setup, and manually adjusting speed and timing might solve the problem as suggested.

I explored all possible combinations. It looks like my fourth memory slot isn’t functioning properly. The yellow LED and three beeps suggest memory issues. Tomorrow I’ll try using compressed air to check for dust inside the slot. Right now, I’m using 24GB of RAM, which might not be ideal.
