Hello everyone, just starting out with building and preparing to assemble my first computer. My final components are expected next week, but in the meantime I attempted to flash the new BIOS on my motherboard to get it ready for the 5600X I ordered (also arriving next week). The issue is that every time I tried, a solid light appeared indicating the BIOS didn't flash properly. Is this a sign of a faulty board or something I'm doing incorrectly? For clarity, I've tested three different BIOS versions with the same problem. I tried the latest beta release, the newest non-beta version, and finally the recommended BIOS from the Amazon seller page. I note that I didn't connect the EPS power during the first BIOS flash, as it was advised not to do so, so I'm unsure if that contributed. Also, is there a way to identify the BIOS version installed on the board from the box or from Manuel? Some boards were updated with Zen 3 compatible BIOS versions.
During the flashing process of my B550 Aorus Pro AC, everything seemed to be installed. I tried using all available options, but none worked—only a brief blink and a solid orange light indicated completion. Afterward, I noted that Q-flash or M-flash might not have been compatible with my setup. When the flashing finished, it simply confirmed success. EDIT: Did you verify there were no requirements to rename the BIOS file for your board or manufacturer?
It wasn't something I initially considered a problem—maybe it was just USB 2. It’s been a while, so I might need to search for alternatives just in case.
Maybe yes, there was a situation with Aorus Pro boards where pairing them with a 5600x enabled access to older BIOS versions without issues. This worked even though they were supported, which then made it easier to upgrade smoothly to newer models. It's a bit unrelated but still worth noting and thinking about.
I think there are around 1.1 updates for some B550 boards, though the earlier versions from Gigabyte let users boot with BIOS F2 and F3, which couldn't handle 5000.

The updates were just a small change, it didn’t like the USB I was using. Funny thing is, the same brand worked before.
