Problems with MGS V PP
Problems with MGS V PP
I saved this game last night and it worked fine in the prologue mission. But when I attempt chapter 1, the game fails to load completely. It plays audio beforehand displaying the chapter text, then suddenly goes black or crashes unpredictably, regardless of how long I wait. I’m unsure what’s causing the problem. My system specs are an i7-4790k with 16GB RAM and a GTX 980—so my setup isn’t weak. I’ve moved the game to another drive and even re-downloaded it, but nothing has changed.
It's unusual. I'm missing MGSV: PP due to financial constraints. However, I'm interested in trying it. Here are the system prerequisites for MGSV: PP: Basic OS needs Windows 7x64 or Windows 8x64 (64-bit required). CPU should be Intel Core i5-4460 at 3.40 GHz or faster; at least quad-core recommended. RAM: 4 GB minimum. Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650 (2GB) or better, with DirectX 11 support. Hard Drive: 28 GB free space. Sound Card: must be DirectX 9.0c compatible. Recommended OS: Windows 7x64 or Windows 8x64 (64-bit needed). CPU: Intel Core i7-4790 at 3.60 GHz or higher; quad-core preferred. RAM: 8 GB recommended. Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760, requiring DirectX 11. Despite the demanding CPU specs, it seems possible that patches might be affecting performance, which is common for new releases. Most users should be able to stop the application smoothly.
Perhaps the issue lies elsewhere. My 4TB HDD was showing signs of failing, which is why I rely on it for my Steam games. I transferred all my games to my 2TB SSD and created a backup of everything else on the 4TB drive, saving it to the 2TB SSD as well, then filed an RMA. Still, it doesn’t work on the 2TB drive. I might test it on an SSD to see if that resolves the problem.
Consider testing it first. If it fails, run a diagnostic to identify the real issue. If the problem is with the storage and you can't see the CPU/GPU settings affecting it, replace all the storage components. It'll be tough, but that could be the final option.
For Windows 7 or 8/8.1, hold the Windows key while pressing R to open the Run dialog. Enter "perfmon /report" to launch the diagnostic tool. This method is free and includes with the operating system. It also functions on Windows 10.
It seems like you might be referring to a missing dependency file.
Uncertain about the situation, it could be Windows 10 or something similar. I didn’t experience any problems with Windows 8.1.
