Problems with mesh Wi-Fi (Google Wifi / Tenda Nowa MW6)
Hello from France! I live in a spacious home, and my ISP router only supports 2.4 or 5GHz bands. I decided to explore alternative ways to extend Wi-Fi coverage inside my house. Initially, I bought another router, but it didn’t connect properly, so I reached out to my ISP support. They informed me that third-party devices couldn’t replace their older Thomson routers.
I then researched mesh Wi-Fi systems, thinking they’d work well with my thick concrete walls and large areas. I chose the Tenda Nowa MW6 trio because it was the most affordable option. I turned off the router’s Wi-Fi, connected the three devices to different LAN ports throughout the house, followed the app instructions, and achieved seamless coverage for several months.
However, about two weeks ago, things changed. The access points kept disconnecting from the main unit, and the Tenda stations stopped providing bandwidth every half hour. I had to restart them repeatedly. Since nothing seemed to improve, I suspected a hardware problem. I contacted Amazon for a replacement, but after setting up three new routers—each more expensive than the originals—I still faced the same issues.
Feeling frustrated, I blamed the low-quality devices and ended up buying three additional routers online. They also had similar problems. With limited knowledge of networking, I was hoping someone could assist me. This situation seems beyond my expertise. Thank you in advance for your help!
