My emulators worked before, but now they're lagging. I'm running on Gentoo Linux x86_64 with the newest kernel. CPU is Intel i5-4690K and GPU is GTX 970. I have video of me using melonDS.

Additional details are required... Is there an updated official Gentoo kernel or a testing version? Have you installed the linux-firmware and linux-headers packages? Do other games function properly? Which settings are active in the emulator? Edit - also, since you have an Nvidia GPU, did you verify that module loading support was enabled before building it? EDit 2 - a straightforward check would be to run emerge --ask neofetch, then simply launch neofetch from a terminal and observe its output for GPU information.

My neofetch results show the system details and package status. There are 906 packages available, with 906 emerging ones. The shell is bash 5.1.12, running on an Intel i5-4690K CPU at 3.90GHz. GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970, and memory usage is 1969MiB to 11919MiB. Other games seem to cause similar stuttering issues, not just one. I also have default settings on melonDS and installed jamie@TuxBox. The merge process completed successfully with no errors.
