I've been running an Unraid Server for ages with my file shares over SMB, it works absolutely fine with Windows but I've found performance is horrible on my M1 Macbook Pro. Both OS's are up to date and connected using Gigabit Ethernet and I have ensured that "Enhanced MacOS Interoperability" is enabled in my Unraid Settings. Raw Throughput seems passable when transferring large files, but there is a delay of about 1 second for every new file, so when transferring large amounts of smaller files such as 15KB XMP files, it takes forever to do so. Have been trying to figure this out for months to no avail, please help!

This improved navigation was beneficial, but uploads remain quite delayed.

I’ll definitely keep an eye on this. Although I rarely handle small files on my Macbook, the problem might explain why file browsing feels slower compared to Windows or Linux. It’s confusing how they claim MacOS is suited for professional video and photo work yet it struggles with a NAS.
