Hello, I recently installed an Aorus X870 Elite WiFi7 and upgraded several components (AMD Ryzen 5 7600X3D, DarkRock TF2, Corsair Dominator Titanium 7400mhz 32GB DDR5 kit, MSI 5070 Shadow 2X). Everything worked fine overall. I noticed two 8-pin connectors for the CPU, but online sources suggest it's not required unless you're doing overclocking. After the upgrade, I encountered a few problems:

Problem 1: My system recognized the Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVME but not the 870 EVO M2 SATA, despite both being 2280 and compatible with my motherboard. I swapped them into different slots and updated the drivers, but the 870 still didn't show up in BIOS.

Problem 2: I connected a network via a Powerline Adapter, but even after updating the LAN drivers, it took a long time to connect or would drop out, claiming no internet access. Chrome would fail to load pages, even though the Wi-Fi card was powered on and drivers were fresh. I also have no Wi-Fi adapter installed, despite having the motherboard's built-in one. I attempted a network reset and used the netsh command, but nothing resolved it.

Problem 3: When using the DarkRock TF2, I could only fill the two farthest RAM slots, likely preventing dual-channel usage. This might affect XMP performance. The issue is especially frustrating because my M.2 drive holds game files and I rely on this PC as a Plex Media server—stable internet is essential.

Anyone have advice? Particularly for network setup and the M.2 drive concerns.

The "870 EVO M2 SATA" is a standard SATA m.2 SSD, distinct from NVMe m.2 models such as your "Samsung 970 EVO Plus 1TB NVME". To operate it, you require a motherboard with a compatible SATA slot. Yet SATA m.2 is rapidly losing relevance since 2.5" SATA drives or NVMe SSDs are now more practical. Consequently, most modern boards lack slots for SATA m.2 devices (all four ports are NVMe-only). To keep using the SATA m.2 drive, a converter is necessary.

AM5 isn't compatible with RAM speeds above 6000Mhz unless you're experienced. I recommend swapping the RAM for a 2x16GB 6000Mhz CL30 package.

The powerline adapter is confirmed to be functional. Have you used it with another device before? Regarding the Wi-Fi, which of the listed drivers were you to install?

They performed flawlessly with my previous configuration and provided reliable wired internet. I initially chose the first two but later remembered I needed to install the third option. Thank you, I’ll look for a compatible adapter for the 870 EVO and aim for reduced RAM speeds.

That's a B key M.2 to SSD. The EVO 870 uses a B-M key (two notches). I also located the SimpleComm EC421 with a B-M key for PCIe, would that be suitable?

The suggestion works fine. Check the details at the bottom right. Both B-keyed and M-keyed ports fit B+M SSDs... though it's not required. Make sure to read thoroughly before purchasing.

I don't believe external solutions are suitable for this.
