Problems with identifying or locating proxy configurations on Windows.
I’ve experimented with various solutions, such as resetting the IP address in the command prompt and reinstalling network drivers. Now I’ve just completed a fully new Windows setup, installed the network driver from a laptop onto a USB, and connected it to my PC.
You link to the web by restarting your network equipment (modem, router, switch, etc.). Have you checked if a VPN or other network program is affecting your access? Does this problem happen with every web browser you use?
I link via Ethernet to my router, attempted a restart of all devices including the router, no VPNs active. It happens with everything. In the lower right it shows I’m connected but can’t update Windows—it just says it can’t connect to download updates. When I open a site, it keeps reporting “security certificate issue.” I’m using Windows 10 Pro from 2015, and I can’t update without an internet connection. Edited March 18, 2021 by MrLouieDoe
