Hi everyone, here’s my first post. I’m trying to add more SSDs and HDDs to my system, but one HDD isn’t showing up. I’ve switched to a new SATA cable and SATA drive, but nothing works. I have an MSI Tomahawk Max II and also have some RAM issues—I think the slot is dead, so I’m using 8 GB RAM now instead of the previous 2x8 GB. When I plugged in the second RAM stick into Slot 4, the computer wouldn’t start. I updated the BIOS but didn’t see any changes. If anyone can help, I’d really appreciate it. Also, sorry for my English—I’m from France and my language isn’t great. Have a good day!

The manual indicates that SATA ports 5 and 6 are turned off when an M.2 drive is installed, which may explain why your HDD isn’t appearing. You might want to relocate it to another SATA port. Regarding RAM, possible issues include a faulty slot, a dead memory stick, or a malfunctioning memory channel on the CPU’s controller. Further troubleshooting will help identify the exact cause. If several slots linked to the same channel fail to detect either stick, the problem likely lies with the CPU’s memory controller.

Hello, thank you for your message. I understand you received the correct information about the HDD and are considering memory RAM placement. The slot where you installed it seems to be working, so you can test with a different processor to confirm. Appreciate your patience and support!

Salut !

Hello everyone, the issue is coming from the MB, I'm heading to fix it. I found a shortcut but I'm still unsure about the new graphics card and RAM. Thanks a lot, have a great day!
