Problems with drivers and BIOS configurations for Windows 11
Here’s a clearer version of your text:
I need to remember some details before I forget.
I bought the ASUS Prime B360-Plus with an i5 8600 and 32GB RAM, paired with Corsair Vengeance RGB (2x16GB) and a 2TB Crucial MX500. I also upgraded my PSU to a 700w model—probably not original, but it worked.
Before that, I owned an ASUS Q170M-C and an i7 6700. Everything else stayed the same.
Hi everyone, I just got a motherboard bundle from eBay with the ASUS Prime B360-Plus and an i5 8600. After updating my existing parts, I decided to reinstall Windows 11 completely. Usually I let Windows update install drivers, but this time I think it might have installed an outdated audio driver and possibly others too.
I noticed a program called Realtek HD Audio Manager—looks like very old software from 2014. The driver that came in was from 2016. I expected a newer driver or a Microsoft store audio console, but instead I’m stuck trying to install it manually.
I also have trouble with the manual Windows 11 drivers for a clean install without any updates. I only have a few files: several setup or installer executables, and I’m not sure which one works.
Other drivers are confusing too—chipset, Intel management, MEI, chipset info, all without clear instructions. The SATA drive is another point; I’m unsure if it’s necessary, though I use AHCI with a SATA SSD.
Lastly, what BIOS settings should I enable for Windows 11 and gaming? If needed, I could try installing Windows 10 instead if no drivers are available.
Thanks for your help—I tried to keep things as clear as possible!
