I recently upgraded from a single 4K display at 60Hz to adding a 1440p screen at 75Hz and later a 1440p (144Hz) HDR setup connected to an RTX 3070 Ti, along with an i7 11700K. The journey hasn’t been smooth. I’ve experienced flickering on startup, random 5-minute glitches during gameplay, and even icon shuffling when switching monitors. After reinstalling drivers, some problems persisted. Switching to a 144Hz monitor caused icons to rearrange, which bothered me. Recently, games altered my monitor settings, and now I’m concerned about losing control. When launching Minecraft, the game automatically set my monitor to 60Hz and changed the color profile, making it hard to revert. Now I’m limited to 60 or 120Hz with a reset to RGB. The flickering resumes after any refresh changes. I also recall accidentally connecting my first 1440p monitor via HDMI on my motherboard, which led to conflicts between my integrated and dedicated GPU. This issue seems resolved by disabling the integrated GPU and rebooting. While multiple monitors can cause issues, I’m hoping for a solution so these problems don’t continue. Please let me know if there’s a way to stabilize my setup or if unplugging the 60Hz monitor is necessary. Thank you for your help.
