Problems with DDR5 XMP RAM performance
Problems with DDR5 XMP RAM performance
I upgraded my system with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D and G.Skill 64GB RAM at 6000MHz CL30. After installing a new driver, the RAM speed was changed to 4800MT/s, but it still shows 6,000MHz when the CMOS is cleared and the XMP profile is applied. The device won’t boot properly.
What model of motherboard and BIOS version are you using? Your memory kit is 2x32GB or 4x16GB? Which memory slots are connected? Some BIOS versions don’t support XMP, so you’ll need to set the XMP settings manually—either by adjusting frequency, timings, and voltage—to ensure compatibility. You may have to either change your BIOS settings directly or try different revisions to see what works best.
You'll need to adjust the XMP parameters yourself. Access the BIOS, enter Advanced mode if necessary, navigate to Overclocking, change DRAM frequency to 6000, set FCLK to 2000, configure UCLK DIV1 Mode as UCLK==MEMCLK. In the Advanced DRAM Configuration section, modify tCL, tRCD, tRP, and tRAS values accordingly (adjustments may vary based on your hardware). Press Escape to return to the main menu, scroll to DRAM voltage settings, set VDDQ to 1.4V, VDDIO to CPU VDDIO, and DRAM VPP to 1.8V. Finally, press F10 to apply changes and test booting.
Uncertain about creating a separate entry, yet encounter similar issues. The instruction at 0x00007FFDOC1E3404 is referencing memory address 00000000000000024, which couldn't be written. Click OK to end the program.
