I have an older laptop of mine that experiences crashes when installing the latest and previous AMD drivers for its GPU. The PC enters a boot loop, and even after reinstalling Windows, it only works if the drivers are uninstalled in safe mode. It’s a Lenovo Z51-70 running Windows 10 64-bit, which is quite old. If this problem can be resolved, it would be greatly appreciated.

You mentioned seeing it yesterday and likely using version 23.4.1.

this problem seems to have occurred before, likely more than two years ago. i suspect a recurring issue where the system can't identify the gpu properly. the task manager and device manager don't show any visible gpu activity. after changing to switchable graphics, the system won't boot unless you return it.
