I've recently changed my GPU from the RX 590 to the RX 5700 and noticed a big difference in performance. I haven't seen any frames at all, Gmod only reaches about 110 FPS, whereas with the RX 590 it hit 200-300. In GTA V it drops to 30-45 FPS unless low settings are applied, then it jumps to 55-60 if lucky. Hitman 2 stays around 25-30 FPS both high and low. I'm using 16 GB of RAM and my games run on an SSD, which doesn't seem to affect FPS much. Portal 2 is 70 FPS with the RX 590 and 50 FPS with the RX 5700. I've minimized background apps, leaving only 3-4% usage. My CPU usage is around 60-70% in most games, while the RX 5700 runs at 40-50%. Neither GPU is overclocked, but the RX 590 was boosted by 175 MHz extra. Any suggestions?

Have you performed a new Windows setup? You might attempt to run Linux via a USB drive and install Steam there to check if the problem lies with Windows.

I haven't considered it yet. I'll head back home and give it a shot; if it doesn't work, I'll try Linux. Thanks!

Running linux would be before reinstalling windows to see if the hardware itself is fine Or just reinstall windows if you already have it set up on a tiny partition so it's easy to reinstall it.

I was planning to set up various Linux distributions beginning with Steam OS, but it didn’t recognize my GPU. That’s why I switched to a fresh Windows installation, which really improved things. Now I can overclock my hardware much more effectively. Thanks!
