Hi everyone, it seems most files plex can mount include the wheel group or root as members, which aligns with the idea that only root or sudo should have access. "Petter" appears to be a non-sudo user, and the only person with permissions on the filmer folder is likely Freenas, who probably uses sudo or root through the web interface. If it doesn't work, I'm unsure how Freenas handles this situation. Please confirm the correct commands for "Petter."

Hi, @Jarno. Thank you so much for the help! Unfortunately, the command line groupadd "filmerusers" did not work, and I guess that's why the subsequent commands didn't either. Is it possible to edit users and permissions in the command / shell of NAS? I don't know. Do you have any clue what I should try now? Thank you so much for all your help! It is very much appreciated!

That's the distinction between BSD and Linux, probably you should look up the equivalent command in BSD. It seems FreeNAS might have changed it significantly, so the command could be missing there.

You're experiencing the same problems again. The solution I suggested involved setting up a Windows 10 virtual machine in Freenas to run Plex, which helps with permission issues.
