Problems when applying flashing DD-WRT on a TP Link Archer C9 v4 (also known as Archer C1900)
I’ve delayed this update for some time, just waiting until the warranty ends on my C9. I realized today because the router’s stock firmware broke and erased the previous settings. I’m using a second router (D-Link DIR-868L) as a wireless AP with DD-WRT, which has been functioning smoothly for over a year and a half. I’ve been researching online and recently came across an article I wanted to try, so I also need to install DD-WRT on my C9. I’m attempting to download the files, but when I try to flash them, the UI shows an “unable to upgrade” error. I’ve noticed something about my C9—it’s an American model with a bigger stock firmware than what DD-WRT offers, which is roughly the same size as the European version. Could this be why I’m stuck? I’ve tested several versions to confirm the issue.
Did you check the installation guide in the DDWRT Peakcock discussion? If not, begin there. https://forum.dd-wrt.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=51486 Remember, with my DIR835 I had to install an older DDWRT version before upgrading.
I didn't encounter any issues, actually I had a great time setting up an account there. It seems the verification system is treating me as a robot. Thanks for pointing that out! I found it strange at first, but the DIR-868L I tried earlier worked perfectly right away.
@Donut417 attempted the latest update immediately, but encountered issues.
