Problems running Flight Simulator X
Recently removed my hard drive from my old laptop and connected it to my desktop. I want to run my favorite retro game Flight Simulator X which is stored on the drive. However, it's causing major issues because I need to install it from a CD that contains the physical copy. The problem is this only worked since my laptop had an optical drive, but my PC doesn't. I've tried copying and transferring the files locally, but I can't download the game. It feels like a frustrating test to confirm I'm booting from the CD. Summary: I own the CD, I have the files, but I can't install or access them.
The disk must be available to launch the games, similar to how a console works. It seems there’s likely no alternative but purchasing a disk drive for your PC.
Obtain a separate DVD disc. Ensure the hardware can interpret the file from the program, as it’s designed to prevent unauthorized use.
An external DVD drive connects via USB and is affordable, making it a practical choice. We don't support or assist with piracy; if you need a disc for a game, using a DVD drive—whether built-in or external—is the best solution.
