Problems installing Windows 8.1 occurred during setup.
I've been attempting to set up 8.1 on my SSD, following several fixes like changing the partition format to GPT. Once I reached the USB installation stage, I removed it as instructed and restarted the system, which then triggered a blue screen. After an automatic reboot, I encountered the error: "The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered and unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed." I verified the installer on my USB isn't damaged, as I've re-downloaded it and created a bootable drive from scratch using Microsoft's tool. This is causing significant frustration with the installation issues. Could you offer any advice? Thanks, Kevin.

The system shut down suddenly or ran into an unforeseen issue. Windows setup can't start. Press Shift+F10 to launch Command Prompt, type regedit, and go to HKLocal machine/SYSTEM/SETUP/STATUS/ChildCompletion. Locate the registry entry named “setup.exe” and change its value from 1 to 3. Double-click the key to edit, then close regedit and click OK in the error dialog. Your computer will restart and proceed with the normal Windows installation.
I mentioned that the path in regedit isn't present. After setup, only "AllowStart", "Pid" and "SetupCI" remain, which means I can't modify those settings since they don't exist.
